Pharmacological action

Chondroitin contains chondroitin sulfate derived from cattle tissue and dimethyl sulfoxide.

Chondroitin sulfate is a high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide inhibiting the destruction of cartilage, which prevents the collapse of connective tissue. It suppresses the enzymes that cause damage to the cartilage, stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans, helps restore the cartilage surfaces of the joints, stimulates the synthetic processes in chondrocytes, and improves ultrastructure.
