Pharmacological action

Diosmectite has an antidiarrheal, absorbent, enveloping, gastroprotective effect.

Indications

Acute and chronic diarrhea, including in children, symptomatic therapy of pain syndrome in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (esophagitis, gastroduodenitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, diseases of the colon, intestinal colic).

Hypersensitivity, intestinal obstruction.

Dosage and administration

Diosmectitis is taken orally, with esophagitis - after eating, in other cases - between meals. Adults - 3 sachets (9 g), dissolving the contents of each sachet in 1/2 cup of water. In case of acute diarrhea, it is possible to double the daily dose at the beginning of treatment.

For children up to 1 year old - 1 sachet per day (3 g), 1-2 years old - 2 sachets per day (6 g), over 2 years old - 2-3 sachets per day (6–9 g).
