Pharmacological action
Fungin Forte belongs to the combined antimicrobial drugs. Terbinafine is an antifungal agent of the allylamine group, active against pathogens of dermatomycosis in animals. The mechanism of action is the suppression of squalene epoxidase in the cell membrane of the fungus. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes the death of the pathogen cell. Depending on the concentration, terbinafine exhibits a fungicidal or fungistatic effect. Due to the high lipophilicity, terbinafine molecules accumulate in the stratum corneum of the dermis, hair follicles, sebaceous glands with local application to the systemic circulation to a small extent. Thiabendazole is a fungicide from the class of azoles. Active against pathogens of trichophytosis and microsporia of animal genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton, Achorion. Like other azoles, it blocks the activity of enzymes involved in the 14-demethylation of lanosterol, which leads to disruption of ergosterol synthesis. A change in the structure of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungal cells leads to a violation of its permeability, exit from the cell biologically active substances and the destruction of the cell wall. In addition, thiabendazole disrupts the process of nuclear division, inhibits the reproductive ability of fungi. Metronidazole is a drug from the group of nitroimidazoles. The mechanism of action is the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group of metronidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitro group of metronidazole interacts with the DNA of the bacterial cell, inhibiting the synthesis of nucleic acids in it, which leads to the death of the microorganism. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, methylated derivative of fluoroprednisolone. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, desensitizing, immunosuppressive, anti-shock and antitoxic effects, increases the sensitivity of beta-adrenergic receptors to endogenous catecholamines. The mechanism of action of dexamethasone is to suppress the activity of various tissue-destroying enzymes - proteases and nucleases, matrix metalloproteinases, hyaluronidases, phospholipases, inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins, kinins, leukotrienes and other mediators of inflammation from arachidonic acid. Lidocaine - has a local anesthetic effect, blocks potential-dependent sodium channels, which prevents the generation of impulses in the ends of sensory nerves and the conduction of impulses along nerve fibers. Fungin Forte by its degree of exposure to the body belongs to low-hazardous substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a local irritant, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effect. Eye contact causes slight irritation.
