Pharmacological properties of

The drug has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory and anti-uremia.

Indications

The drug is used as an expectorant in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by cough with difficult to separate sputum (including bronchitis, tracheitis, tracheobronchitis).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as to drugs, containing active substances of the primrose family and the clear-headed children after acute obstructive laryngitis (croup), asthma, diabetes mellitus hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome and congenital sucrose-isomaltase deficiency children under 2 years old.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Pregnant and lactating women are not recommended to take the drug (due to insufficient data on the safety of the drug in this group of patients).

Special instructions

1 scoop of syrup (5 ml) contains 3.16 g of sucrose. Subject to the recommendations for the use of the drug specified in the instructions, the patient receives from 3.16 g (1 scoop - 5 ml, which corresponds to 0.316 bread units) to 9.48 g (3 scoops - 15 ml, which corresponds to 0.948 bread units) sucrose. Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms: the HerbionВ® primrose syrup does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and work with other complex technical devices, which requires an increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Dosage and administration

Inside, the drug is recommended to be taken with plenty of warm water. shake

Adults are advised to take 3 scoops (1 scoop - 5 ml) 3-4 times a day after meals.

Children aged 2 to 5 years - 1/2 scoop 3 times a day after meals.

For children aged 5 to 14 years, take 1 scoop (5 ml) of syrup 3 times a day after meals.

For children over 14 years old - 2 scoops (10 ml) of syrup 3-4 times a day.

The duration of the course of therapy is 2-3 weeks. An increase in the duration or a second course of treatment is possible after consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Allergic reactions possible. Possible in very rare cases: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. In case of side effects, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Drug Interactions

Herbion® primrose syrup should not be used concurrently with antitussive drugs and drugs that reduce sputum production, as this makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.

Overdose

There have been no reports of overdose. In case of overdose of saponin-containing drugs, gastrointestinal disorders are possible, manifested by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Treatment: symptomatic.
