Pharmacological action of

Kamiren has hypotensive, vasodilating, hypolipidemic, antispasmodic effect. Selectively blocks postsynaptic alpha1-adrenergic receptors. Reduces OPSS, total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides and increases the content of HDL in serum. Prevents the development of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease, inhibits platelet aggregation. Camiren reduces the mass of the left ventricle (with prolonged treatment). It prevents the contraction of the smooth muscles of the upper urethra and the muscles of the prostate gland, facilitates urination and eliminates the dysuric symptoms accompanying benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, including to other quinazoline derivatives (prazosin, terazosin) or to other Camiren components, gastrointestinal or esophageal obstruction, narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract of any degree, children's age.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Pregnant women can be prescribed the drug only for health reasons, when the benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risk to the fetus / baby. The safety of the drug in infants has not been established, therefore, nursing mothers are advised to stop feeding during the treatment with doxazosin.

Special instructions

Special caution should be exercised when prescribing this drug to patients with impaired liver function, especially in cases when drugs are used at the same time, capable of adversely affecting liver function. In cases of deterioration of the functional state of the liver, the drug is immediately canceled.

In order to prevent orthostatic reactions, patients should avoid sudden and abrupt changes in body position (moving from a lying position to a standing position).

Dosage and administration

Side effects of

Treatment: In most cases, a dose reduction or temporary interruption of therapy is sufficient. The patient should be given a supine position with a low headboard and slightly raised legs. It is not recommended to induce vomiting. To remove the non-absorbed drug from the gastrointestinal tract, gastric lavage should be performed, activated charcoal, a laxative should be prescribed. Agonists of -Adrenoreceptors (e.g., norepinephrine) are prescribed. Hemodialysis is ineffective (since doxazosin is almost completely bound to plasma proteins).
