Pharmacological action of
Immunomodulating drug, is a means of etiotropic and immunostimulating therapy, has indirect antiviral effect against influenza A and B viruses and other viruses that cause acute respiratory viral diseases.
Bendazole induces the production of endogenous interferon in the body, has an immunomodulating effect (normalizes the body's immune response). Enzymes whose production is induced by interferon in the cells of various organs inhibit the replication of viruses.
Alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan (thymogen) is a synergist of the immunomodulating action of bendazole, normalizing the T-cell immunity.
Ascorbic acid activates the humoral immunity, normalizes capillary permeability, thereby reducing inflammation, and exhibits antioxidant properties, neutralizing oxygen radicals that accompany the inflammatory process, and increases the body's resistance to infection.
Pharmacokinetics
When taken orally, the drug is completely absorbed from the digestive tract. The bioavailability of bendazole is about 80%, alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan - not more than 15%, ascorbic acid - up to 70%. Ascorbic acid is absorbed from the digestive tract (mainly in the jejunum). Binding to plasma proteins - 25%. Tmax after oral administration - 4 hours. It easily penetrates into white blood cells, platelets, and then into all tissues, penetrates through the placental barrier. Gastrointestinal diseases (peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, intestinal motility disorders, helminthic invasion, giardiasis), the use of fresh vegetable and fruit juices, alkaline drinking reduce the binding of ascorbic acid in the intestine. Ascorbic acid is metabolized mainly in the liver with the formation of deoxy ascorbic acid, followed by oxaloacetic and diketogulonic acids. It is excreted by the kidneys, through the intestines, with sweat, breast milk in unchanged form and in the form of metabolites.
The biotransformation products of bendazole in the blood are two conjugates resulting from the methylation and carboethoxylation of the imino group of the imidazole ring of bendazole: 1-methyl-2-benzylbenzimidazole and 1-carboethoxy-2-benzylbenzimidazole. Bendazole metabolites are excreted in the urine.
Alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan under the influence of peptidases is split into L-glutamic acid and L-tryptophan, which are used by the body in protein synthesis.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of influenza and SARS.
Contraindications
children under 6 years of age
pregnancy
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Caution: during breastfeeding, use is possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the baby.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug is contraindicated in pregnancy.
During breastfeeding, use is possible if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the baby.
Composition
1 capsule contains:
Active ingredients
Timogen (? -glutamyl-tryptophan in the form of sodium salt) 500 mcg.
Bendazole 20 mg.
Ascorbic acid 50 mg.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate - 97.8 mg, calcium stearate - 1.7 mg.
Composition of the capsule shell: case: titanium dioxide - 2%, gelatin - up to 100% cap: titanium dioxide - 2%, sunset yellow dye - 0.2190%, azorubine dye - 0.0328%, gelatin - up to 100%.
Dosage and administration
The drug is taken orally 30 minutes before a meal.
For the purpose of prevention and treatment, 1 capsule is prescribed for adults and children over 6 years of age. 3 times / day
The treatment and prophylactic regimens are identical.
Side effects
From the cardiovascular system: a short-term decrease in blood pressure.
Allergic reactions: rarely - urticaria (in such cases, the drug is stopped and symptomatic treatment is prescribed, antihistamines).
Drug interaction
No interaction of alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan with drugs.
Bendazole warns of an increase in OPS caused by non-selective beta-blockers. Increases the antihypertensive effect of antihypertensive and diuretic drugs. Phentolamine enhances the antihypertensive effect of bendazole.
Ascorbic acid increases the blood concentration of benzylpenicillin and tetracyclines. Improves absorption of iron preparations in the gut. Reduces the effectiveness of heparin and indirect anticoagulants. Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), oral contraceptives, fresh juices and alkaline drink reduce its absorption and absorption. When co-administered with ASA, urinary excretion of ascorbic acid increases and ASA secretion decreases. ASA reduces the absorption of ascorbic acid by about 30%. Ascorbic acid increases the risk of crystalluria when treated with short-acting salicylates and sulfanilamides, slows the elimination of kidneys by acids, increases the excretion of drugs that have an alkaline reaction (including alkaloids), reduces the concentration of oral contraceptives in the blood. When used concurrently, it reduces the chronotropic effect of isoprenaline. Reduces the therapeutic effect of antipsychotics (neuroleptics) - phenothiazine derivatives, tubular reabsorption of amphetamine and tricyclic antidepressants. Barbiturates and primidone increase the excretion of ascorbic acid in the urine.
